The Challenge
Every child that does not have the chance to be involved in an extra-curricular activity can find themselves heading down a path that isn't in their best interest. With sport being the #1 discretionary activity in the United States, it is a strong opportunity to involve a young person in an engaging, encouraging environment. However, lack of cleats/shoes and/or equipment can be the leading cause for a child to not participate in local sport activities. How can we ensure every child has the same opportunity to play?
The Impact
FCA KickStart wants to level the playing field by providing gently used cleats, shoes, gloves, bats, balls, and other equipment to give every athlete the opportunity to go out there and play. This cleat, gear, and equipment program allows for the community to rally around this need and leave a lasting impact on a young athlete. Parents and coaches have expressed the great desire to see more athletes from low income or under-resourced areas have the same chance to perform on the playing field, giving them a higher chance of succeeding in life!
